WILD ORCHID DRIVE — Residential

Wild Orchid Drive is a hillside house overlooking Cedar Valley, designed around the steepness of the site and the views across Antigua. The house steps down with the natural slope, creating a series of interconnected levels, terraces and gardens. Large openings and deep overhangs keep the principal rooms shaded while extending them out towards the landscape.

The architecture is simple and deliberately robust, using the topography to give each part of the house a different relationship to the ground and horizon. Living spaces open onto broad terraces, while more private rooms sit deeper within the hillside. Rather than flattening or disguising the difficult terrain, the project uses it to shape the character and organisation of the house.
