A studio of experimentation
William Hedley Studio is the architecture and design practice of William Hedley, an architectural designer trained at the Architectural Association School of Architecture in London. His experience spans architecture and interiors, including work with Coop Himmelb(l)au in Vienna and Miminat Designs in London, alongside a longstanding engagement with fine and avant-garde art.
The studio was established as a space for architectural exploration across disciplines. Its work draws on art, science, philosophy, music, biology, technology and culture, treating these fields as ways of questioning how architecture might be conceived, experienced and made. Research and experimentation sit alongside an interest in material, atmosphere, proportion, landscape and the rituals of everyday life.
Projects are approached individually, without the expectation of arriving at the same formal answer twice. Each is allowed to develop from its own circumstances, influences and contradictions, as much an opportunity to discover new questions as to resolve those already present.
