SAUTTER — Humidor In Progress

The Sautter Humidor reinterprets the traditional cigar cabinet as a piece of contemporary furniture: an object for preservation, display and ritual. Conceived as a tall, freestanding volume, its slender proportions and graphic presence pay subtle homage to the Italian design tradition, drawing on the geometries of Gio Ponti’s mirrors and the archetypal form of Aldo Rossi’s Cabina.

A playful light and dark marquetry exterior frames a warm Spanish cedar interior, designed to preserve and display a cigar collection within a carefully controlled environment. A full-height glazed door, discreet lighting, integrated humidity control and electronic access are incorporated without disturbing the simplicity of the whole, while a concealed rotating base allows the cabinet to be viewed from different angles. The contrast between its graphic outer shell and aromatic cedar interior creates a sense of enclosure and discovery, turning the act of selecting a cigar into a small ritual. At once cabinet, vitrine and piece of architecture, the Sautter Humidor brings craftsmanship, preservation and display together within a singular object.
